"Kathy, I wonder if you could give me some suggestions/advice about what businesses in Sullivan we could contact to sell a book The News-Gazette recently published about the local Amish called The Amish of Illinois' Heartland. We've got it in stores in Arthur and Arcola and want to make it available in Sullivan as well. It's a 144-page soft cover that sells for $18.95, and it's getting positive reviews. I spent more than 15 months working on it along with photographer Vanda Bidwell. It's being received well by the Amish community as well for being a good explanation of their faith and lifestyle. With tourist season coming up, we think those visiting the community will find it a valuable, handy way to get insight into the Amish culture."
